no, but after seeing several reviews and movies, as well as playing one of the expansions themselves, i would recommend purchasing it as it has major differences, and u can travel from one world 2 the other. Also, new races are now being created, so i recommend getting it, i am. oh, and try buying it from inside the game itself, especially if u live in australia now, cuz of the current exchange rate, which means that it would be very cheap.Is "guild wars eye of the north" free if i already have the first one?

You have to buy it even if you have the games(s). It's worth it though.
